The F2821D is P25 compliant. The mixed mode scan is compatible with both analog FM mode and P25 digital mode allowing users to program digital and/or analog FM modes per channel. The mixed mode scan allows you to detect and receive both analog FM and P25 digital modes and to transmit either mode depending on programming. For basic encryption the F2821D comes with a built-in inversion type voice scrambler. For a slightly more secure system, the optional rolling and non rolling (UT-109/UT-110) are available. Many public safety agencies require high level encryption: AES & DES. Icom offers an AES and DES upgrade to provide secure encryption for the F2821D. With heavy-duty construction, the F2821D is built to last. The F2821D incorporates a 4W speaker in an impact resistant polycarbonate front panel for crisp clear audio, and includes a backlit 10-keypad for extended operation. Programming - Radios are programmable and will require programming to work with an existing system. Software and programming cables are not included with the radio and must be purchased separately. Do I need an FCC License - FCC licenses are required for many business radio frequencies. The biggest advantage to licensing your frequencies is exclusivity. Using common or default frequencies often means dealing with interference from others nearby who are using the same frequencies. We can help with the FCC application process. 12.5/25 kHz, 15/30 kHz Tx Rx 45W 14.0A 1200mA Dimensions (W×H×D) (projections not included) 175×45×170 mm 67⁄8 ×125⁄32 ×611⁄16 in 45W (UHF) Sensitivity Analog (12dB SINAD) Digital (5% BER) 0.25/0.3μV typ. 0.25/0.3μV typ.
